Bhavish while sharing the video on his Twitter profile wrote, “Taking #EndICEAge to the next level. This World EV day, sharing a glimpse of the future. 2024 not too far.” The video shows the design of the Ola electric car in computer graphics and then a portion of the clay model. From the clay model, it looks like the exterior design of the electric car is in its final stage. There are robotic arms working on the clay model to make precision cuts to achieve the desired look. There is an Ola badge in the front just above the grille. The car seen here in the video looks like a sedan which might get a coupe-like sloping roof design. The production version of the Ola car is expected to come with an all-glass roof.
There are sharp grooves at the front and the headlamps are likely to be placed inside these grooves. The grooves would give it a sharp and sporty look at the front. The roof falls and meets the boot of the car. Just like the front, the rear would also get a very sharp design. More details regarding the exterior design and the interior are expected to be revealed in the future. Ola Electric shared details of their upcoming electric car on August 15, this year. Just like many other things, as of now, there is no information available related to the platform or drivetrain of the Ola car. However, the company claims that the first electric car from Ola will do 0-100 kmph sprint in under 4 seconds which is sportscar territory. If true, Ola electric car will become the fastest electric car in India.
The car would have a drag coefficient of less than 0.21 Cd and would offer an outstanding driving range. Ola electric claims that the upcoming electric car from them would offer a driving range of more than 500 km on a single charge. Along with the car, Ola is also working on an internally developed lithium-ion battery pack for the car and other future products. This would help Ola keep the cost of its product in check. If you are all excited about the upcoming Ola electric car, then you should know that it is going to be an expensive car. Ola’s CEO itself had announced that the price of their first electric car would be priced anywhere between Rs 40 lakh – Rs 50 lakh. The upcoming Ola car would be launched in 2024 but, the exact month of launch is currently not known. It would be manufactured at Ola’s Future Factory near Bengaluru. This is the same factory where they currently build Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters.
