The Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the first access-controlled route in the nation, will see an 18% hike in tolls beginning on April 1, according to representatives of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).
According to a senior MSRDC official, the government announcement from August 9, 2004, the toll is implemented cumulatively at 18 percent after every three years, even if it rises by 6% annually.
According to a different official, the new toll will be 320 rupees for four-wheelers like cars and jeeps and 495 rupees for trucks like minibusses and tempos.
Two-axle trucks will now pay a toll of 685 instead of the current 585. It will rise from 797 to 940 for buses.
