Tensions rise in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, after "stone-throwing" incident at a temple during an Eid procession

Tension gripped Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, after protests by Hindu groups over allegations of stone-throwing at a local temple during an Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession. Protesters demanded police action, claiming that some stones were thrown from the procession, injuring a temple priest's assistant.

The incident followed a similar one in Ratlam, where stones were allegedly thrown at a Ganesh idol procession, sparking unrest. Police are investigating both cases.

Mandsaur's Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Anand, confirmed that a complaint was filed by the temple priest, and a case was registered for stone-throwing and assault. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed.

After the incident, security was increased, and the Eid procession was completed peacefully. The police urged the public to avoid misinformation and maintain peace. Police from neighboring areas and additional personnel were deployed to ensure calm in the city.
